On December 3rd, 2020, The Women’s Business Center of Fayetteville joined Devoted Family Practice in celebrating their introduction as Fayetteville’s first Direct Primary Care Clinic. Devoted Family Practice is Fayetteville’s first direct primary care, designed to provide doctor to patient care without third party (insurance) interference. This design will give patients access to affordable, accessible, personalized care, with the ability to see the same provider throughout the duration of their care.
Dr. Kapur’s focus is holistic medicine, and she is passionate about changing what traditional healthcare has become. After practicing for over a decade, she became frustrated with the system, a healthcare system that has become an industrial complex. Devoted Family Practice brings a humanistic, caring approach with an intimate doctor and patient relationship. Dr. Kapur calls direct primary care “A beacon of light” that allows her to practice medicine in the way she always dreamed of.
Dr. Kapur graduated from Chicago Medical School and completed her residency at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Chicago. She obtained formal training on homeopathy from The Center for Education and Development of Clinical Homeopathy. At Devoted Family Practice, she teaches relaxation techniques, diligent medicine, and nutritional counseling, hoping to empower her patients to improve their overall health and wellness.
On the wall at Devoted Family Practice hangs a plaque reading “This clinic serves in memory and celebration of My Father, Dr. Mahesh Kapur, devoted family physician, and My Grandfather, Dr. Bansidhar Kapur, devoted homeopath.” Family is so important to Dr. Kapur and she wanted to ensure she honored them by serving her community the way they served theirs.
To support her soft-opening, The Women’s Business Center of Fayetteville helped Dr. Kapur with an official ribbon-cutting. This formal celebration allowed her to network with other community members and invite prospective patients to see the clinic. She said,
“Just knowing someone was there, having those resources to help market my business was the biggest help of all.”
Our business counselor Tiffany helped guide her through using social media as a marketing tool so that Dr. Kapur could connect with the community. She said, “This was my first time really using social media, and I can’t thank Tiffany enough for her help.”
Dr. Kapur said there was a quote she’s lived by up through her grand opening, saying “On the other side of fear, is everything you’ve ever wanted.” She feared leaving traditional medicine, stepping into the unknown, but most importantly, she feared what would happen if she didn’t take that step. She expressed her gratitude for God, her family, her patients, and her community – all reasons for bringing Direct Primary Care to Fayetteville.
